Personal Care Worker
Job Description: The PCW is the primary caregiver for residents at Dietsche Family Homes. PCW’s are expected to act professionally and courteously toward the residents, staff, and management of Dietsche Family Homes.
There are three shifts each day at the Sherwood Forest House of Hope. 8A-3P, 3P-10P, 10-8A
AM Shift (8A-3P) or Responsibilities and Job Duties include
- Assisting, and charting AM medication – see Medication Handling Policy
- Assisting with AM cares of residents - see resident’s care plan
- Unload Dishwasher from previous night and put dishes away
- Assisting with and/or preparing breakfast and lunch for residents
- Prepping supper for evening shift
- Load Dishwasher with any dirty dishes
- Keep the kitchen neat
- Clean bathrooms
- Keep daily logs of important events in residents activities and behaviors
PM Shift (3P-10P) or Responsibilities and Job Duties include
- Assisting, and charting PM medication – see Medication Handling Policy
- Assisting with PM cares of residents – see resident’s care plan
- Prepare supper and serve meal family style to residents
- Clean Kitchen (including floor, stove, refrigerator)
- Clean Living room and Hallway (vacuum, spot clean rug, dust, water plants)
- Pick up around deck and wash patio furniture.
- Load Dishwasher with dirty dishes
- Run Dishwasher at end of evening
- Keep daily logs of important events in residents activities and behaviors
10P-8A Overnight Shift Responsibilities and Job Duties include
- This is an on premises, on call, sleep shift
- Assist residents when needed during the night
- Be familiar with emergency procedures
